Default Quick Question for my F4iers

My buddy just picked up an 01 F4i and mentioned to me that he considered it a sport touring bike. Someone please clarify this for me...tell me our bikes are Sport bikes and not sport touring bikes! My other friend has a Suzuki SV-650, I know that bike is a sport touring bike. But I look at the CBR f4i as a true sport bike. Anyone have any thoughts or knowledge they would like to share with me so I can either tell my friend never to speak about our bikes like that again or avoid him for a while until he forgets about it!!! Thanks people!

Other than the seat, the bike remained pretty much the same so I don't know how the split seat could be a race oriented bike, and the banana seatisn't. If you go onto the Honda site, the F4i is listed under the sportbike heading.

EDITED OUT: wrong info on banana seat (my bad).

banana seats did not start with the 02 model they started around 04.
The F series was considered sport bikes, not touring, until the RR came along and then to some, the lines were blurred.
A Katana is a sport tourer, the F4i is not.
