Default Questions about Bank Angle Sensor

I have a messed up bank angle sensor and was wondering if there is any reason not to by-pass it all together instead of getting a new one??? what is the point of the bank angle sensor???? if i do by-pass it does anyone have sketch or instructions on how to do so?

People do it all the time on trackday bikes. If you lowside it, it will keep running...

i would recommend replacing it just incase sh*t happens. but if you want to bypass it, it is very easy to do.

how does it work? Is it like a mercury switch that cuts off the ignition or what?

it cuts off the engine(does the same thing as the kill switch) if the bike falls on its side...its a safety feature so you dont get hit by the tire turning or the bike still rolling for some reason...good incase you crash or even if you drop it while its in gear

but you can bypass it...i believe(could be wrong) you can just connect the wires on either side of it to bypass it

Dont bypass it man... e.g. if you lowside it and your stator cover cracks and the engine still runs then you could have metal getting between gear teeth/into electrical wiring = bad
Just replace it or something.

Once this sensor was activated, if you pick up the bike will it start again or you will need to replace the sensor?

you just have to turn the bike off and back on to reset the sensor. that would be pretty poor design if you had to buy a new one
