Default Is this a quality 520 conversion kit?

Can you guys check this out?

Is this a quality kit? Sprockets made by Vortex... it sounds good... one person told me it is a cheap, weak set.
What have you all used on yours? Thanks!

RK chain suck...and so do all the others. shell out the cash and do with a DID...my RK lasted me like 1K and then started to stretch like a biatch. others who i ride with had the same issue with RK...with one dude having it snap, not even at the master link either!

go with DID...

now...why a 520 conversion? if anything, drop a tooth in the front or add some in the rear. unless you're racing, the 520 isn't going to do much for you but hurt your wallet.

It's a good kit. RK chain is a quality product. D.I.D. is also excellent. Only reason I can see an RK stretching or snapping is if it wasn't matched with the power output of a particular bike. I mean you can't run the same chain on a built 1000 that you do on a stock 600.

As far as why 520 -- c'mon, it's physics -- less rotational mass and unsprung weight adds up to quicker acceleration ... period.

So 520 just means the chain and sprocket design? Then you choose the # of teeth after that? I wanted to go -1 up front and +2 in rear just to help accel and to get the wheel up. That sound good?

the 520 conversion means lighter chain..meaning quicker acceleration....that guy that is selling the kit told me that it will be $200 for the 520 kit with a 15 front 60 rear sprocket

never buy aluminum sprockets...if you buy those just throw your money out the window.

i seen a D.I.D 520 chain at a local dealership...they want $130 for the chain alone..then they said it's better to get the D.I.D chain and Rethal (or Renthal) sprocket..don't know why..but i don't have the money rite now to do the conversion, but i will next year

Ya, well peeps also say that crotch rockets are disposable bikes and not to throw your money away on them. The aluminum sprocket has its place and when aligned correctly with decent chain maintenance will last between 7500 and 10K miles.

i know of many real world cases that would say otherwise about RK. maybe they do make great chains but just have really bad QA...which makes them crap then. the chains were...525 on an F3, 525 on an F4i, 530 on an R1, and the list goes on and on...all running the chains they are supposed to...yet they all stretched big time with one snapping.

yes i understand about rotational mass, but as far as the need for it on the street...its benefits are not that noticeable...hence...it is recommended for those who are running track or racing where every little bit counts...what really makes a difference is a really good chain...PERIOD!
