Pressure Droooooooooooooooooooop.... 2.25 to 2.5 help a kid out
there is my new pipe.... its off a 2000 zx9r well the ninja runs a 2.5 and the cbr runs a 2.25.... so im going to go with one of two options... gut my yoshi pipe for its metal mesh core peice and re wrap it to make it sound better or i can use a reducer off the muffler to my mid pipe... but how much of a pressure drop wold i see in just get from a .25" larger pipe? i mean it cant be horrible considering some of the race pipes decrease the length and thick ness by about half any suggestions?
also the pipe is a bold on not a slip on pipe but thats not a big deal just as easy as getting a .25" thick piece of aluminum welding it to the mid pipe and drilling three holes....
i got the pipe for a steal its a muzzy carbon fiber pipe.. i picked it up for a hundo..... so ya couldnt turn it down... the cf alone is worth that......

my new muffler on my exhaust will be a quarter of a inch bigger than the size a f4i normally runs.... i want to know how its going to affect how my bike runs..... the pipe wasnt off a f4i it was off a zx9r ninja... they run 2.5 we run 2.25.... its a 938 dollar pipe i got for 100 dollars... so i couldnt turn it down..... i can do one of the two things just bolt the pipe up and see how it runs.... or i can use the core from my old yoshi pipe re wrap the exhaust and put it inside the muzzy exterior housing.....
im asking for opinions
suggestions, concern... and perhaps some better ideas than what i have.....

I'd say bring it to an exhaust shop and have them weld it to fit so there are no leaks.. A zx9 has more power which means the exhaust is going to be more restrictive than the f4i. More restrictive= less noise.
But your bike is going to run richer from more restriction which means less power which is the opposite of why most people buy aftermarket, to make the exhaust more free flowing.
Try it out and see how it works, you can always take some of the packing out or make it into a shorty pipe.
