Default Pre-Yoshimura install...

hey everyone,

placed my order for my yoshi TRS SS slip-on last week, (BTW, the cheapest place to buy it brand spankin new is morepowerracing.com for $306 shipped, if anyones looking or interested)
anywho, I'm just wondering if I'll be needing any special sealant or some kind of grease for when I mate the slip-on to the headers pipe? I just want to make sure that its a good seal. Or are the bolts enough?
I want to have everything ready for when it gets here Thursday for a quick install and joy ride! lol, also i'll be doing a quick before and after vids for the peeps that want to know how it sounds compared to stock.
well thanks for any info, much appreciated.

Everything you need will hopefully be shipped. You don't need any grease or anything. Just wiggle it on, line it up, and clamp it down. Make sure to wipe it down with some rubbing alcohol, before startin the bike up, when you are done.

To clean off the oils left behind from your hand so when the pipe gets hot it doesnt discolor.

Yea, very true, I actually bought an anti-bluing cleaning solvent for just that post-installation clean down. Thanks for reminding me.

Sweet, I guess all I gatta do is wait for it to come in.

I got the CA model RS-3 with bung for O2 sensor. It came with the plug and a washer, just put that in and torque it down.

it's slip fit, but it's not a tight fit so you won't need any kind of grease. the clamps hold it together.

oh yeah and if it mounts anything like my RS3 you will have to drill a hole in the end of the OEM header where the Yosh slips onto for this little stud that stops it from slipping off...don't forget that step

That step is a bit overkill. I completely ignored it because I was never going to get a drill bit even remotely close to the header. That pipe isn't going anywhere with the header clamp and footpeg clamp.
