Default Plz help-----dropped my bike

Hello guys..............

As the title says, i dropped my bike for the first time and hopefully its my last. It was definitely a beginners mistake for me. As i was pulling into the spot, i made a sharp turn and and BOOM the right side of bike is on the ground!!!!!!!!!!!! Even though the lot was narrow, it was still a bad rookie mistake by me.

Now the damage to bike as follow:

- scrape on right side fairing

- right side turn signal reflector lens broke (Easy fix)

- gauge cluster not working 100%----------only thing that's functional is high beam and turn signal on cluster.
The tach needle, digital speedometer, temp and N not working.

Has anyone ever had their cluster not working for any reason? What should i check for besides fuses. Hope i do not need a new gauge cluster.

Thanks

Sounds like something was knocked loose. just check all connection specifically the 2 that goes to the cluster. I've never heard of the cluster losing a few functions after a drop.

i found a 10a fuse located under the seat blown. I replaced it with a spare 10a fuse, once i turned it to the on position, the display came on for half a second and the fuse blew again. not sure where to even start.

Might be a short in the harness for the cluster.

^ there's no "might" about it. Check all the wires around the forks, I'd bet my last dollar you'll find a pinched wire. Since it's only the gauge cluster, that narrows it down to a few wires. Star at the cluster and work your way to the main harness. Pay attention to the color of the wires so that when you get to the connector you know which wires to follow.

Lol that's where the guy I bought my bike lives

Drop a PM and I'll see if I can swing by (wonder if my multimeter will fit in the 'boot')
