PLEASE HELP ASAP!!!!!
Really really stupid question but im changing my oil for the first time ever but when i remove the oil drain bolt is it clockwise or counter clockwise?? I have a 01 f4i. I have tried it both ways and call me weak but i couldnt get it off for the life of me. It did have a racing wire thread locking it to the frame which i removed. Thanks!
i just did this yesterday, it is the typical clockwise to tighten, counter to loosen.....when it is tightened down it should be torqued to 20 ft/lb....per the manual.....if it is that tight, when you get it off, check the threads and the crush washer, likely you will need a new crush and make sure your threads aren't torn to hell....especially if you have been tightening it on accident although the crush should help prevent SOME of that....good luck...
Don't mean to sound like a jerk, but be sure you're really turning it lefty-loosey... sometimes working upside down on the bottom of something can throw a guy off! It's happened to all of us, admit it or not, so I thought I'd throw it out there!
If it had safety wire it might also have thread locker...
Use a ring type wrench so that it doesnt come off easily.
And what doesnt happen with a lot of force can happen with a few easy knocks... so lock the wrench in hit it... making sure the screw head is not being stripped.

What kind of wrench are you using? Mine was way overtightened by the dealership too. I recommend using a socket wrench with a deep socket that is 6-point (hexagonal). This will offer less starting positions but better gripping so you don't strip the bolt.
