Default painting AIR DUCTS

I've got the red/black scheme 01 F4i and as a small winter project i'm going to paint those boring/dull looking air ducts glossy black. Has anyone here ever done it?

How did you prep the ducts pre painting besides a cleaning?

Do you have any pics?

Which class/kind of paint did you use?

thanks

ive done it.. lol.... if u want a slick glossy finish like this

Size: 86.8 KB

then u have to sand with some high grit to kinda wear down that rough feeling, then use a high build primer, continue sanding and priming until u got it as smooth at u want....

they i just used some gloss black rattle can paint, its not a high contact arear (meaning not alot will be hitting it) so u dont need some highly tollerant paint...

or option B you could just buy my carbon fiber duct covers

I had my covers painted gloss black this winter when I had my whole bike painted and it looks 100 times better. I didn't do them myself so I can't say how its done but what Z said seems to be dead on but I highly suggest it. Also if you paint them paint the mirrors gloss black as well. I wasn't going to do it at first but really happy that I did, makes a huge difference.
