I'm for vortex because of the replaceable pucks... which are available everywhere. The previous owner had some online-ordered sliders and I had a hard time looking for any replacement.
The fairing protectors on their website seem interesting though.

My fairing was scratched even with the sliders, at the exact place where they've put the fairing protectors...

Vortex are awesome, I've tested them thoroughly lol

those fairing protectors are interesting but it looks like they may extend further than frame sliders and you've seen that skinny little mount it threads into. The full frame slider needs to be what takes the force in a crash because it has a much sturdier base. Well, the Vortex is sturdy, the OES sliders look to be one-piece and the bases don't look very strong, at least not compared with the vortex

another cheap imitation. With Vortex, your not paying for the name as much as your paying for the quality and reputation. As was already mentioned replacement slider for the vortex are very easy to get and if you have a question, there is a solid company that will always be there.

There are a lot of places that saving money is great but this is one I don't mind spending an extra $30 for something this important.

Actually it's the standard sliders I was interested in http://www.oesaccessories.com/images/newpicF4.jpg

Not the "no-cut" ones. I just like their allignment tool. Maybe I'll just order the tool and buy some Vortex sliders elsewhere.

I have these sliders, the alignment guide works well. They are suppose to hold up quite well. I do not know from my own experience though.

Don't wanna thread jack, but does anyone have any experience with the no cut frame sliders? I dont really wanna deal with cutting my fairings but just want that little added protection, worth it or not?

I have a pair of them that I've had on for 2 years and they work perfectly!!!! Not a scratch on my bike. (mostly because I've never gone down) When I install my Vortex sliders this winter you can buy them if you want.

There, now it's not thread jacked!!
