ok newbie question bout oil..

Default ok newbie question bout oil..

im gettin ready to change the oil in my 04 and i need to know how much oil it holds . i cant find it any where and before any u smart a$$es start in . ive searched the forum for bout 45 mins, and the honda website for another 30

nope didnt come with one when i bought it and i aint paying 16 bucks for one

Engine oil capacity (after draining) - 3.0 liter (3.2 US qt).
That's for an 03, might be the same for the 04.

That's how it is on my RR, too. Don't feel bad about putting a little more in either.

My 2002 F4i holds 3.5 quarts with a filter installed.

so 4 quarts of royal purple max- and im good to go ..should i use the 20/50 for winter , note my bike will not be stored it will rode , like the post man my cbr will not be stopped by wind rain sleet or snow

3.5 quarts per the manual for my 02.any more than that and you'll regret it (like i did. put in 4.5 by accident... i was motorcycle-less for 4 weeks after that mistake)

20 w 50 is to thick..10 w 40 or 15w50 should be fine..Make sure that the oil you are using is compatible with a bikes wet clutch if its a automotive oil.

3.5qt with the filter puts mine almost dead on the full line.
