Default Oil cooler question

Hello all,

Anyone know if there is an oil cooler compatibility issue (any issue from specs, fitment, functionality) from an 01 F4i to an 04 F4i (I have an 04). I searched on the forum, but haven't found anything. I checked and the part numbers are the same, so I was just wondering if anyone has any experience with replacing the oil cooler, fitment and/or if using the bolt off the cooler from my 04 with the 01 will be a problem.

I found two small dents where the oil filter gasket contact the oil cooler on mine and I am leaking a few drips of oil each time I start up the bike from a cold start.

I am looking to order an oil cooler off Ebay since they are plentiful and cheap (unless its recommended to get a brand new OEM part).

Thanks.

After replacing the oil cooler with a cooler from a 2001 F4i (mine is a 2004), there is no difference in the part for all F4i years (Actually, the part is the same from 99 - 2006).

I installed an oil cooler today and my lead is fixed.

I found an oil cooler on Ebay for 10.00 + shipping and did the replacement today.

Haha 10 bucks for an oil cooler? I may buy a few just for the heck of it.

That was the cheapest on Ebay at the time. Now 15.00 and higher. I live not too far from a local motorcycle salvage yard and I called and got a quote for a cooler and they were selling it for 75.00. As soon as I heard that, I purchased the cooler on Ebay for 10.00.

From the looks of the design, it seems quite difficult for them to go bad (based on my experience and knowledge), so any used cooler is good, as long as it is dent free.
