I've heard of people turning there engine over (without start) to drain as much oil as possible. I wouldn't recomend it either...

Well my oil and car burn 1qt between oil changes since vtec works off oil. Since the black oil is old it has lost most of its capabilities as oil. So melting point becomes lower and it might mix with the old stuff but will eventually burn up. On the bike i just let it drain and had to go buy a filter wrench haha but mobil 1works great the bike shifted so smooth.

To eliminate dry starts after oil change here's a technique I saw that works well:
Fill the filter with oil and watch it soak into the filter. Continue filling and then install. No dry starts.

It takes time to fill a new filter with oil. By doing it this way you get immediate oil pressure and better fill of the filter with a better level.

And while I still have my bike(s) I wonder where those 2 chuckleheads above have been.

FWIW, I do the oil filter technique in conjunction with a full oil change. Peace out!

Please take a pic and post it, because I don't believe it.
Jaybird, those peeps were saying dumb to this post, not your oil filter filling technique that should be standerd for every oil filter put onto every internal combustion engine ever produced.

Have engine running without oil for few seconds after draining the old oil is not likely to hurt the engine any. Likely to get more of the old oil out of the engine than letting it drain alone.
