Default Observation/question about the f4i

A few of my buddies recently got f4i's. One is new, an 07 I think, and the other is an 05. After sitting on and riding the 07, I notice that it's very much like a Katana in the way it sits, ie. higher handlebar position in relation to the seat height. I mean no offense by making that comparison, I am just curious.

I can tell that its riding position is more standard or "touring"in respect to the RR series, and wonder if this bike was designed as a market competitor to the Katana (and similar) "semi" sport bikes/"sporty" bikes, whatever you want to call them.

Along that same line, does the f4i use a heavier frame as opposed to its RR counterparts like the 'tana vs GSXR's?

What "upgrade" path is available for the f4i's as opposed to the RR series? Are they capable of generating the same kind of power?

There's no 07 F4I's by the way, they are discontinued.

I was pretty sure that the f4i is A super sports bike... Just a little less aggressive on the sitting position

its just not as track focused as the 600rr. untill the 05-06 version came out the f4i and the 600rr shared many of the same parts , they physically just looked different.

The F4i was the SS bike entry by Honda for several years, until the more aggressive seating and perching was being offered by other makes. Then they released the RR and the F4i was the "street bike". All the cutting edge money went into the RR and in '06 the RR was fully redesigned and more relaxed ergos were (re)introduced, thus making the F4i pointless. The '07 RR is lighter, faster, handles better and is just as- or more comfortable than the F4i.

The F4i is still a fantastic machine, though, and for $2k+ less than the new RR (shopping around), you can get a great deal on them new.

Can a moderator boot this guy? Calling a F4i a Katana.

refering this to the tuna can? are you serious.. those things are heavy...

also to add to above the RR has better suspension than the f4i, I actually find the f4i MUCH more comfortable than the new RR for 2007. Although the 2007 RR has a WAY more comfortable seat than it's old 2006 model.
