So I ordered yesterday Akrapovic slip-on (non CA), andtoday Ilooked and my stock pipe and holy crap - there is some wire sticking out of it. I boughtthe bike from Canadian dealer a month ago, never thought that I could have O2 sensor.

Could you please tell - is this really the O2 sensor? Which slip-on do I need then - California model or regular?

 

that appears to be a o2 sensor. is your bike a ca model ? when you took your old one off did it have a o2 sensor? if not then you should call back the dealer and verify the part # that they ordered and see if there was a mix up.

 

Well, I didn't take anything off yet.It is the stock exhaust mounted on my bike rigth now. I boughtbrand new bike a month ago, and ordered akrapovic from online shop yesterday.

 

0o0o0 ok i thought that was the new exhaust. well then that is an o2 sensor so i do believe you have a ca model bike . so why did you order a non ca model exhaust ?

 

Good question. Why would I order CA model if I live in Canada? I didn't look at it because I was 100% sure that I can't have a CA model. I even have some plate mounted on it that says thatthe bikemeets some canadian laws, it can't be brought from California, unless we have here the same law.

 

wll here in the usa CA has the strictest smog laws so if your laws were similar to mine its possible it could be CA model but im no expert . maybe someone else will chime in and tell you how to deffinetively tell how to check for ca/ 49 state model

 

That's an O2 sensor- order the CA exhaust or have a muffler shop weld in a bung for an O2 sensor on a non-CA exhaust.
Or get a Power Commander and get the O2 sensor "bypass" device.

 

you should get a power commander anyway. an O2 sensor eliminator does not need the power commander to function.
what year is your bike? 05 and up (or is it 06) all have the CA smog stuff. so if you specify the 06 year exhaust, it should come with a bung for the O2 sensor.

my akar full system came with a bung welded on there but the hole wasn't tapped. maybe yours would come the same as well. then you just need to tap it.

I didn't order a full system, just a slip-on. The interesting part is that it seems like Akrapovic doesn't provide CA/nonCA models, only one. I wonder now which one it is - with or without place for the sensor. I contacted that site, lets see what they say. I guess I will just order a sensor bypass if not...

usually if they dont specify ca/non-ca it'll come with the bung welded and a little screw type thing to block it off if you dont need it..
