So just in case anyone else runs into this minor wall and gets uber-frustrated like I did...

The speedometer will not function properly without the headlight (or more specifically, headlight harness) plugged in.

I spent quite a while wondering why my speedohealer did not function properly while doing the little test mode to see if it was installed correctly. To be more specific, I am using the V4 Speedohealer, and the test mode is supposed to 1) display something besides 0 on the speedo when turned on, and 2) blink as the wheel is spun. Mine did the latter, which made me very confused why it wasn't doing the former as well.

I'm in the middle of doing a lot of random stuff to the bike, and I do not have the headlight attached. It's such a stupid thing, too. I hope I'm not the only retard who has taken a few years off their own life stressing about stupid stuff

 

Aken what kind of gearing are you running? Do you know the error rates that the speedohealer is correcting for?
Example (made up)Stock 16/46 gearing 7%; 15/48 16%, etc

 

I'm running -1/+1, and Speedohealer's generic calculator gave me an error rate of 13% w/ factory error included. I'm going to leave it at that until I have the ability to test the bike against a more accurate factor (car, GPS, etc...).

 

Another interesting, yet unrelated, note - the odometer goes back to zero after 99,999 miles!

 

Thirdgen - can you confirm this statement?

 

I also have the V4 speedohealer, with the -1/+1 and using the GPS, I got a -14.1% calculation, HTH

 

So what's the calculated error rate for -1/+2?

that's some interesting fact, but what would be with the odometer in km's ? when would it reset? after 99,999kms?

 

Do they have a website with a pointer to their calculator or something. I wanna have a guesstimate of how far my speedo is off now. Thanks.
