The pump should have power to it.

Don't assume. You know what they say... The pump is not running at all right now. Missing power points needing repair elsewhere and maybe explains how the 2 symptoms could be related.

Maybe it's just a coincidence.

Without actually doing some tracing and proper diagnostics, everyone is just guessing and throwing names of parts out there.

You are of course right man, will have to take things a part yet again..just taking a breather from the frustration, the recent heat here doesn't help (91*F in snowy Canada and all haha).

I am going to guess I am getting the injector code due to the pump not coming on..I would imagine or hope (yeah right eh) that if there were other issues that the FI code would tell me. Either way, I shall keep you guys updated.

I figured I'd give this an update.

Got the new fuel pump installed, still received the same issue. Looked through all the relays as, I wasn't aware there were two on the rear at the tail - both looked brand new. Had another look at the ECU and low and behold, turns out a black wire on the black side of the ECU was a bit deceptive. Upon further inspection, it turns out the wire wasn't seated properly..so I plugged in the fuel pump and of course it engaged, alas.

New problem..due to removing the fuel pump a few times, the bloody gasket has come loose and, I'm having a tough time resealing it. The bike does run thankfully as I realize the leaking gas afterwards, haha. Time to try sealing the rubber one more time on the underside of the tank, and hopefully that's the last of this headache. It's been far too long since I last rode.
