Not Enough Juice When Warming Up
ok guys i need some help diagnosing my electrical/charging system on my bike. when my bike is warming up, at around 100 degrees the idle speed will drop really low to about 500 rpm. this will continue until i start riding, which is usually at around 115 degrees. the bike seems fine when im riding around, but if i come to a stop or coast with the clutch in, the bike will go back to its low idle. once the bike gets to normal operating temperature, all of the problems go away and the idle speed goes back to a normal ~1100rpm. this started happening a few months ago.
so i figured it is either the battery, the rectifier, or the stator. anyone ever had something like this happen before?

RE: Not Enough Juice When Warming Up
I dont really let my bike warm up. I just get it out, get on my gear, start it up then leave. I just keep it tame for a bit until I get to the freeway. I dont have any experiance with electrical components. Maybe get a voltmeter and check the output on the battery with the bike on and off.

In any case normal idle should be 1300 or so. In fact, if the bike was staying at low rpm then I'd have said adjust the idle up!
Idle dropping at 100 temp is normal since that's when the initial high-idle is cut off by the computer. But mine drops slowly until it stabilizes at 1300 or so. Try adjusting your normal idle to 1300 and see how that works. If not maybe run some seafoam through a tank or two...
