I used the laser method and no tape and mine are PERFECT.....I really am serious about that, there isn't even a 1/16 of a gap.

it means cut and no cut frame sliders.
like frame sliders that require u to cut a hole in ur fairings, and no cut frame sliders, which dont require u to cut.

Ah i see thanks. But why would anyone want cut frame sliders? is it because they're cheaper?

No-cut frame sliders allow installation without having to cut a hole in the plastics. As stated earlier, they are junk.

The reason people choose cut frame sliders over no cuts is because of how they are mounted. By installing cut frame sliders, you are able to bolt the frame sliders directly onto the engine/frame mounts, therefore increasing the strength and protection provided by your frame sliders.

I used the laser method

and tape

and it came out (almost) perfect.

I think somebody bumped my bike at one point so it's off a fraction of an inch, but I can bend the fairing just a tiny bit and it lines up fine.

I used the stock foam on the inside to line up my slider cuts. Just put some black marker on the end of the slider and mount it, then mount the fairing asbest I could and made just the centering bit cut into the plastic and re-mounted the fairing without the slider to see how close I was. Ended up being almost perfect. I also used tape, cheap insurence.

second everything everyone said...no cuts suck....people have wrote about how the bracing breaks and doesn't give the protection they should...shoguns or vortexs are the ****....i used the laser method...super duper tight...need to work the fairings on a bit but when they are on and bolted up, they look factory....

the tape is for preventing the plastic from shearing and leaving burrs and from preventing any marring to the paint...just do it...trust me...takes 5 minutes to tape and when you pull it off after the drilling you'll see how beautiful the holes look, just take your time, you'll be fine!
