Why not wait that long? If it seems to far for u just do it at 2000-2500

man, its a mental thing. from 700 to 4000 on dino gn4 seems like a long milage interval.[&:]

I go every 2k. I'll switch to synth this next change (@9k) then see what happens. I guess you are talking 3300 miles till the next one right? Maybe a little too long for someone that really cares/about/for their bikeand since it is so easy to do on these bikes, why not do it sooner than later? The other thing I notice is the shifting gets notchy/sluggish if I wait much past 2k, so I also use that to come up with every 2k.

yea i feel ya but i got my lat oil change at like 1200 or so so im only at 2000 now and prob wont get the oil changed again till 3000-3500. I'm going to try to do every 3000-3500 mile unless im doing some heavy riding in the season. With me it all depends on how long i have been riding or havent been riding. But doing it at 2000-2500 should be a good in the middle for you. which you would easily get this riding season or halway through the season depending on how much you ride and weather.

Ya I am sure the engineers who designed these don't have a clue on what to do, right? If you are using synthetic it ain't gonna go bad. The only way I would be worried is if it was extremely dusty where you ride. As far a daily driver goes, so are most cars. I do realize that we all love these bikes more than most family members, but at some point you are wasting money. IMO.

save yourself money and the environment, before shelling out so much bling on fequent and unnecessary oil changes, send your oil away to blackstone labs for an analysis.
