Newbie in need of some advice
I think I am going to go with the f4i, it looks better and the comfort level everyone is talking about is a major plus. The speed isnt that big of a deal for the time being, since I will probably be staying under 8,000 for awhile; I just wanted to know the capabilities for the future. Thanks for all the advice. I am going to see if I can make a deal with them on friday. Case closed
Yea the F4i is a great bike.... can't go wrong there. It's plenty fast enough... I ride with liter bikes all the time, and unless it's a straight open drag than I have no problems at all keeping up. That'll come with experience though, just take it easy for now, no rush. Awsome all around bike though.... good looks, good comfort/ergos, drop dead reliable... does everything from cross country roadtrips to trackdays, can't go wrong! Don't worry about the mileage either, it ain't nothing! I think I had that the first 5 months I had my bike
hey man, i paid $5k for a '01 but it was in MINT condition w/ only 4600 miles on it and came w/ joe rocket jacket, joe rocket gloves and an arai helmet. i am VERY pleased w/ what i got for $5k. but 13000 miles at $5,500 is kinda steep!
Look Private Sale also, I paid 3800 for my 04 F4i with a Joe rocket Jacket, Shoei helmet and Joe rocket gloves...it also only had 1600 miles, I got it from a friend but you are always going to get cheaper bikes private sale, just before you make the purchase take it to a dealer and have them go over it and address is there is any issues. I could be happier with my bike and the price I paid is going to let me make a ton of Mods, and as far as your friends go pick what you like riding isnt a peer pressure type of thing thats what gets you killed, all my friends told me to get a high speed ATV for my first well I bought a sportmen 500 and who was there to pull them out of the **** in their little 2x4 machines the guy with the 4x4 of course
both bikes are priced a bit high i would say...maybe KBB says they are ok, but you have to look at the demand side, with all the new bikes coming out, these won't move so fast at those prices.
as far as your buddy's R6 comment, the bikes are similar and don't really differ by that much HP to the wheels(unless you're picking up a cali 2 seater F4i). his R6 (today's R6S) is a very fast bike but you'll keep up with him just fine on the F4i. unless your buddy is a racer...he can try to keep up with me and my F4i...muahahhahahahh...

He's not a racer but he thinks he is. I am not worried about keeping up with anyone anytime soon. He was talking about topping his bike out at 165, I told I wouldnt ride with him if he was going to be pulling that ****. I really do appreciate all the advice, the f4i will be mine come friday.
Minus all the chrome/polished parts, I bought that exact bike last summer for $4,500 with 8k miles on it. That came with a Teknic leather jacket and KBC helmet. Mine had 2 tiny scratched on it and that was it. I love that bike and wouldn't have traded it for anything else at the same price. Perfect for a newb (to 600cc) like me. Hopefully you got talked them down in price. Places around me are asking in the same high ballpark so I found mine from a private seller on this forum.
What would be the highest price i should take for it.
01 cbr f4i
13k
jadrine exhaust, some chrome, frame sliders, etc
I am thinking no more than 4800 but would like some input.
Thanks
