Here's a thought for you. If its only a weekend bike, have you looked at getting a used one like an 02 or 03? Insurance is cheaper too. If not try negotiating the price. I got an 02 for 3500 with only 3800 miles on it, and it is the best purchase that I made, and then the extra money I saved, I used to mod the bike.

the vfr's (i think) are really nice bikes too especially to fit a passenger on (in my opinion)

Great choice with the F4i.... can't go wrong no matter what you're riding style is. I love mine to death, and it's anything but a weekend only bike, LOL (see sig), and it does everything I ask it to do, and does it flawlessly. No complaints here!!

FWIW, I paid $8500 OTD for mine brand new back in Oct. 2004. Good luck!! There's a place in Missouri and has some killer prices on bikes. The name escapes me right now but I'll find it and post the link

I go two up all the time, but I think I'd prefer the Interceptor over the F4i for straight line two up 100 mile runs. For just the rider alonethe F4i is a perfect blend of comfort and sport...for two people, not so much.

The katana and fz1 are really just too ugly to consider.
