Default New Paint.

I got bored last night and whenever I am bored I need to do some modifications to something. Last night it was my bike. Painted with Rustoleum rattle cans. Here are before and afters of what it used to look like.
It is not a lot but I think it helps with the line a lot more. The bike used to be SOLID red.

Things I have done since owning the bike:
Painted Air Duct Covers --> Gloss Black
Painted Mirrors --> Gloss Black
Painted Chain Guard --> Gloss Black
Black levers (see in after pictures)
Tank Pad (see in after pictures)
LED Peg lights (see in after pictures)
Painted side fairing inserts --> Gloss Black

you should paint your clutch and stator covers. Those scratches are ugly, but nice subtle touches with the paint.

Best way to prep anything before painting is to sand them down to give the paint something to grip to and then be sure to thouroughly clean them. Spray a THIN coat as your first coat, little thicker second, same third then clear over it. Clear is difficult as sometimes you have to spray it just a little thicker.

I think my covers have like 5 coats on them. Put some good wax on them after the paint is fully cured.

Looks sweet

I was thinking about painting the air duct covers and thought red would've been too much, and after seeing gloss black, it looks good!!

I think you should get your rear sets & rearpassenger pegs powdercoated black though. That's what I just had done......everything on the frame is black except that stuff (they're silver). It would definitely keep your red/black theme going on!

I'm gonna throw them on the bike tomorrow and get/post some pics to show howthey came out!!!

I was planning on painting the rearsets and pegs since the frame is black and it will make the Yoshi exhaust look like it is floating. I was probably going to get the paint that you bake on or just paint with metal paint and LOTS of clear instead of going powdercoat since then I wouldn't have anything to ride with while the sets where at the powdercoat.

Red/Black is my favorite color scheme so it will def. stay black/red.

As for the tank, that is the way that I bought it. The red was professionally done.
