Can anyone tell me how to get the fuel gage to display on a 2005 F4i.

There isn't a fuel gauge on a F4i. The only time you know how low you are on fuel is when you are in the reserve and have about 40 miles to go. I reset my trip every time I fill up and fill up with the same amount of fuel (3 gallons) so when I get to around 120 miles I know its time to start looking for a gas station.

 

thanks for the info. cant believe they didnt put a gage on the bike. the led's are right there.

Agreed. There is one on the F4 and RR but for some reason they didn't feel it necessary to put one on the F4i.

 

Yeah, I noticed that too when I first got the thing. Just remember your average mileage, and when you need.

 

or just get gas when the reserve light comes on
u still got quite a ways once the reserve starts, not a long ways, but a little

 

at the chance of sounding stupid, to go to the reserve tank, do you have to turn a lever.

No, you don't need to flip a lever or anything for reserve. It works like a car.

no u dont, its more like a level in the tank once you get to it its the "reserve" and the light with the bars come on-does that make sense?
