Default New CBR 600F4i Owner

Today I purchased a 2001 CBR600F4i, it was lowered 2 inches the previous owner said it was done by removing a part, which is in the picture I have linked to. I would like to return the bick to the correct height, does any one know what this part is.

Thanks

It looks like he had installed lowering links. Your best bet would be to get a set of stock links and replace the lowering links. How did the previous owner lower the front? If he just slid the fork tubes up that will be easy to fix.

Does the part he removed go back on the bike?

there has to be a shock link on the bike, whether it is the lowering link or the stock links. either way the bike will not function without.

that pic is of the stock links and the stock dog bone both of them will have to go back on the bike if you want to raise it unless he put adjustable links on the bike than you can just use what you haveon the bike and take a bolt out and lift the bike back up and put the bolt back in, as for the front if the forks are even with the triple clamp than the bike hasn't been lowered up front

Easy to raise it back. Like stated before, just swap out the stock dog bone that you have with the aftermarket dog bone already installed on your bike. It is located at the end of your rear shock. Hope this helps.

Lowering links are the way to lower a bike. Does he have the original parts? If not try to buy some off e-bay.

Here's what your rear shock setup should look like, does this help any?

On a related note, what steps should be taken when bring the front end back up to ensure that the bike remains at the appropriate angle?

I am out of town this weekend, so I have not had a chance to look closely at the front forks. I stopped by the local Honda dealer today and spoke with a mechanic and said basically the same thing, he indicated they may have had the front forks taken apart and cut. Hopefully that is not the case on my bike. I am going to try and contact the first owner who actually had the bike lowered and find out what he did.
