Neewbie, First bike.....
hey everyone,
Im new to this forum so id like to introduce myself. My names chris and im from upstate ny. Im 5"11, 250 pounds and 16 years old. Im going to be purchasing a bike soon and have decided on either a 2001 gsxr 600 or a 2001 or 2002 cbr600f4i but im leaning more twards the cbr. I was just wondering if the cbr is a good first bike. I dont want to start off on anything small because im a quick learner. Before anything im going to be taking the MSF course. I know the bike can bite beginners in the *** but im responsible and know my limits and to take it easy for a while till i get to know the bike and how to ride. Id just like some imput by more expierenced riders. Thanks

F4i's are awesome. They rule. Good power range throughout the rpms. Comfortable to ride for long distances. Since you weight 250 you might want to consider stepping up to a 750 for some more power. I only weigh 160 so I get flung around on anything. But the F4i is def a good bike along with the gsxr. MSF course is good also.

yo mang...as far as size...the cbr will still eat you alive if you're not careful.
quick learner or not...it's different when it comes to bikes...
yes, the f4i is a great bike...i would say a better 'first' bike than the gsxr...and as far as reliability, it's also dope.
it's a honda mang...
however, the stock suspension does suck, and at 220, you won't be able to adjust the suspension to match your weight once you get hardcore and want to ride it hardcore.

I agree, if you are over 5'10" or 200lbs I wouldn't bother with a 600. Think also if you are 16 you're gonna want to put a girl on the back... it'll be ****E. Go big, not for the power but for the comfort. I know that means more money, but you'll be better off. Just be careful take the right riding courses and don't f*** around.
