Default Need ya'lls opinions.

So my wife is taking her MSF for her endorsement this weekend and wants to start looking for another bike to ride. She likes mine, so I started looking for another bike for me. I saw this ad and was wondering what you guys think. My first thought is that he has probably rode the $hit out of this bike and I may end up some motor issues in the near future, but the price is fairly reasonable if I can talk him down a bit it may be worth it.

What do you guys think??

Seems like a good deal, but I think you'd better go look at it and ride it (if he lets you) to see for yourself.

Well, the guy definitely knows about bikes. Looking at his garage, my guess is he probably did most of the work himself so I bet it's been taken care of. You'll save a lot of money/work by buying a bike with all those mods on it, but personally I'd rather buy a more "virgin" bike with less miles on it. As stated, if you're really liking it, take it for a spin. While you're there, get a feel for the guy; that'll tell you a lot of how it's been treated.

Coincidentally, I'm hoping on doing the same thing this year with my old lady

Yeah I agree with you guys I'm thinking of calling him tomorrow and checking it out. My first thought when I saw it was I'll bet he's rode the **** out of it!! and I know these bikes are almost bulletproof but I know they're not completly void of any problems.

On the plus side he's been reposting this bike since last fall so I'm hoping if the motor sounds tight and it rides nice I think I can get him down to 3500 or so then I'll definetly jump on it.

That is an awful lot of miles IMO. I just prefer lower miles over a ton of upgrades. It does look good though, I really like that 600rr swingarm.

Too much sh*t has been done to that bike without you knowing anything about WHO did the work or WHY. If you knew him, knew somebody who knew him, or knew anything about him then I would say go for it. Otherwise, parts bike.
