need some help with cooling fans
ok lets me start of with my spelling is bad .. i am very sorry. ok here it goes. ok the fans are suppose to come on at 225?? if i am correct . my temp got up to 228 no fans shut the bike down.. i work on cars for aliving and i get funny about my toys lol.. so i took a digital termomiter and pointed it at the fan switch it was only reading 190. is that normal for the temp gague to be that high and it only be at 190 on the rad. its only 55 in nj. so i am kinda thnking its making the readings funny . but all and all kinda worried about it. if any one can point me in the right diretion . i would love the help. i am going to make sure the fans and stuff work in the am .. i am just tired long day at work .. thanks for the help ..

Temp isn't taken from the rad. The thermo sending unit in the case is what provides the temp for the gauge.
Check that the fan actually works as a starting point. I'd be concerned if my fan hadn't kicked in by then. But I have seen the temp on my bike hit 230 before (100 degree day last summer here in Philly). And I was out today and my fan eventually kicked in. Later than normal on city street riding due to the lower ambient temp
