Default need help buying tires

I have a 2001 F4i and have been riding for just over a year. I think I have the stock tires on the bike right now and they are ready to be replaced. I am looking to spend 200-300 total for front and rear tires probably on ebay. Any suggestions on what are good? I've been told the Pilots are good, but I don't know.

Please dont ebay your tires. Think about it......good tires are what......$300 for a set plus mount and balance. To me.....that is a cheap price to pay to insure I wont hit the pavement. That is just me. Buy them new. Diablo's would be fine, Qualifiers, Pilots, M1 or M3 would be good. All good tires for street riding and the occasional track day.

if you have a cyclegear around you they usually have good deals on tires. i bought my first set of pilot powers there for the f4i for 99 rear and 80 front

i recently just got a new set of dunlop qualifiers and got the rear for 114 and the front for 89

yea the pilot power pricing was insane as that was their grand opening sale price and that will most likely never happen again

but the last deal was i believe 15% off tires and then an additioinal 10% if you buy the tires as a set

$200-300 will get you just about any Street/Track tire out there. Diablos', Qualifiers, or Powers will be a great choice.

I am partial to Pilot Powers. I like the profile and the turn in. Some people prefer a rounder profile. It's all about finding what you like.

I did the same. Got mine at Cyclegear (Sportech M1). I paid about the same plus you can get them mounted and balanced there. I live in the Seattle/Tacoma area. Their prices seem to be as good as
mail order. BTW I wouldnt consider the Ebay tires you see that have been through "track day'. The middles look new but the edges are 20%. Would you ride these carcasses if you got them for free?

NOPE. Fairing cost more that tires.

Track tires, even if they have rubber left, may not have any heat cycles left in them. Not reliable to be pushed. I have heard of guys riding "track takeoffs" on the street and not having problems, but they usually arent very fast riders.

I just put on a set of pirelli diablos a couple of weeks ago now and i really like them. They have a ton of tread on them and they are super sticky! Plus, not everyone has them too which was col to me.

One thing to consider:

Unless you are going to mount and balance the tires yourself consider this; most motorcycle dealers charge more for their service if you do not buy the tires from them. Also, I had to take my tires off and take them to a dealer. Dealers in michigan wanted around $150 if i brought the bike in and $75 if i brought the wheels and tires in seperate. So unless you have stands or can prop your bike up adequately enough, it might be best to shop some local bike dealerships before buying online.
