Need advice from some Experienced Riders
Thanks for all the posts boys, I appreciate. I've ridden a few times on the new blue and as you guys said, the dust wears right off. I've kept the machine under 6K so far, with only a few fast accelerations (hey, you can't NOT accelerate fast on these things) and all is feeling good.
Thanks again.

Under 7k rpms is fine. I would not even recommend that, dont look at your guages while your riding. Unless, there is no one in the streets where you ride, then dont even bother lookin. I would try to learn to shift by sound or by the pull from the bike. There is no way your gonna stay under 6k for the entire period. You will rev it up crazy either by accident or because you needed to. So dont worry about that the bike can take it.
Im sorry, its a good bike and a nice color but someone has to do something about that seat. Is it possible to install the 03 model tail on there?

You can swap the subframe, seat, rear cowl, etc. for the 2001 to 2003 models. Been done before.
tahoe says...ride it like you'll be riding it later and not like a panzy...
if you will be riding it like a panzy then do the wimpy break in...but if you're going to be supermoto champ that ride her like she was built to be ridden.
does MOM truly know what's best for you? sometimes MOMs are wrong!
if something is off, the bike will bust up real quick...easy break in or not.
as far as dust...i say maybe you want to pave the driveway. if not...just chill until you scrub the stuff off.

HEy man, NICE BIKE !!! I have the same one I got mine about 3-4 wks ago. Just ride like ur gonna ride it. Just dont over do it. No redlines etc. and yea letting the bike warm up b4 riding is a good idea!! Mine has about 450 mi and i just recently took it to 10K rpms I was in awe, I cant wait until I can redline it !!! Good luck, be safe, rubber down.
