Default My transformation

So I got this 02 f4i for a good deal off a friend. The bike has been through the ringer basically. This is what she looked like when I got her about 25 days ago. She sat for 4 years basically un touched in a garage.

I didnt get a chance to take to many pics because I didnt even find my cam till after most of the work was done. She is about 90% complete right now. Still need to make a few connections and finish some clear coat but I figure this is pretty close to what shes gonna look like in the end. Tried some diff cam settings to see about quality. Hope you like it. I also have a yoshi 3 carbon slip on being welded atm. did some under the plastic work and then obviously the plastic, wheels, rears, heels, calipers, forks, levers. Some other things need done yet too. Shield, new levers, upper ram cover, stator etc. Some under the plastic things need repainted as well. Cheers.

Looks great. First pic made my think - sure hope your bike wasn't sitting on the stool by the pipes!

But about your paint job, it looks good. What brand of paint did you use? I am going to be painting mine white pretty soon so I am looking for tips.

Thanks bud!

New headers are on the list as soon as Im able to get em. White primer underneath semi-gloss white with gloss clear. 3 layers of each. Rustoleum 2x coverage is what I used. 3.75 a can. Not to bad. I had to repair the upper front nose cowl in like 5 places that it was cracked. 2 places on the rear cowl. Whole thing still needs some clear so I expect more shine eventully. The wheels and other areas that are more prone to damage have an extra coat of everything.

I realize I used a rattle can to do it and some people may knock it but I tried as hard as I could to get professional results out of it. The key was preperation. A nice smooth sand before the last coat makes for a nice result. But Im pretty happy with how she turned out.

WTH?? I think your buddy got as much yellow paint on the calipers as he did on the rims, poor F4i

Top notch restore job though. Paint looks pretty damn sharp. Nice choice on the gloss black rims. Really makes the white pop.

Out of curiosity, were'd you score that hugger?

He just straight painted them.

Thanks bud. I feel it will pop even more once I get it full cleared.

It came with the bike bud. Its the one with the chain guard on the other side as well.
