My HID lights draining my bike
Last night I went to bike night i had almost half of the way the high beams on and we were there kicking it for a while about to leave the bike wont start i knew right away it was the battery so do you guys think that putting the both lights on will drown my battery right away ? and will it be okay if I just ride with my low bean on?
HID's should draw the same amount of power while running as regular halogens. They just take more on starting. Sounds like either your battery, not making enough juice, or possibly you have something shorting causing a drain. I dont ever ride w/ highbeams on in the day. There is a thread somewhere on here that said something along the lines of, riding constantly with high beams all the time can cause wiring for high's to burn up.
Ive Been Running My Hi & Lo Beams for a few months now Low Beam = HIDs , HIgh BEam = Bright Yellow bulb, No Problems yet so far so good , As long as u got a juiced up battery u should be good running both lights at the same time,
Won't matter. There's something wrong with your electrical system (either the battery or the charging system) if the bike is dying.
I would get your battery tested first to see if it is taking a full charge and not draining abnormally. If your battery is a few years old you may just want to replace it.
