Lol and it's also convenient that the pics they have are of a red/black F4i.

I generally don't do 50 on the street When you're doing 50 mph in 6th gear, what are your RPMs looking like?

Stomp grips are known to ruin leathers/jeans over time too from what I read. Their website has plenty of pictures too.
Thanks F4ith- Do you know which ones are good for shorts (High Fusion or snake skin?) If you scroll down and look at the article in the link below, look at the picture that says "Tech Spec's Gripster Skin Panel on the Super Hawk" The camo skate deck looking stuff. I want a sheet of that but I am hoping it is not rough like sandpaper?

See this picture below..look at the black wings on the tank...thats exactly what I want to do..I believe this "Gripster Skin Panel" is the stuff?

I am always in 6th gear cruising on the streets as well. I'll put around town at 4k if I have to. Better gas mileage and I don't need all the power when going 30-40mph

i think according to the owners manual...you should shift to 2nd @ 12mph, 3rd @ 19mph, 4th @ 26mph, 5th @ 32mph, & 6th @ 39mph. going down in gears i think is -1mph for each shift down.

though i can't say that i follow that too much.

definitely if you are downshifting and riding in the lower gear at all (letting the clutch out) you should "blip" the throttle. i don't suggest "cranking" the throttle on a downshift. i did that by accident the first time i was going to pull into my driveway after getting the bike. i was all like "what the...?"

blip the throttle! that's the term. nice one.

and in regards to gearing...i try to get to 6th as fast as possible in traffic. really no reason to be making all that noise or opening her up when you're just cruising.

I'm boggled over here too I don't like having the added steps of downshifting if I should suddenly need power. Floating around 6k-7k rpms Ororo isn't screaming and the throttle is usually barely open, which keeps a ton of power in reserve before needing to upshift.

Cruising in 6th, I'd had nowhere to go but down if I needed power. And with the rpms running that low, it'll be a slow climb up before 6th's power comes in. Not exactly safe in my opinion. The street is too unpredictable to limit my options like that.

Stomp grip will not feel good on bare legs.
