Paint & Body Update
Making progress at the paint shop. We have paint! Probably mentioned this already, but I was originally just going to do satin black paint on this bike, but my good friend Jason Haskin inspired me to do custom paint on it, and we decided to have a little fun with the paint job, which is inspired by a late 70's Gulf Oil sponsored race car. I can't wait to assemble it.
And once again I was unprepared with a proper camera so the photo quality kinda sucks.
First base coat color
Taped of for graphics and sprayed second base coat color
Striped a black border between the blue and orange
And finally a clear coat
Full Album, in no particular order http://s275.photobucket.com/user/gle...BR%20600%20f4i

Excellent question and the answer is a partial yes, and also still working that out. I had to ask myself the same question, because the upper fairing stay/bracket is pretty flimsy. I did mock this up previously before any of the body work with those small lower faring pieces and the plastics that cover the intake duct and both together provided a great deal of support, made the fairing feel pretty solid, and seemed okay on the street........but is it enough? I still haven't decided whether I will have to engineer some kind of a lower support bracket for the upper fairing. A little more street testing perhaps, kinda wondering how it will handle a pot hole or sudden jolt.
