Default My custom undertail and shorty exhaust.

Hey Guys and Gals,

I thought I would post a couple pics of my custom undertail I did this weekend. Last weekend I worked on the shorty exhaust. I have to say both projects turned out awesome! The one thing I messed up on, was when I was cutting my exhaust I did not tape up my Yoshi tag or I would've gave the project an A+. For the undertail I used just Dupli-Color spray on bed liner, it gave it a powder coated look.

Looks awesome dude. What material did you use to make the undertail?

Very nice and clean look. I'm curious, what did you do to cut the lock hole? Was it a half inch drill bit and a little hole on top?

It looks to be the exact size of the lock itself with that little extra part above the big hole.

Thx for the kind words guys

Hey Cool, I used a piece of 24"x24" 26 gauge steel that I picked up from Ace Hardware for $19. I am glad I got the bigger sheet cause the 1st piece I cut did not turn out so good.. The can of bed liner cost $9 so the total project was $28 vs a Hotbodies undertail which sell for $230. I got the idea from the forums here but I can't seem to find the link now. sry

Hey Got, I picked up the Hotbodies rear hugger off eBay for $40 this winter. I think I got it so cheap cause it didn't fit very well(see pic). I had to make a bracket on the left side of the bike so it didn't rub on the rear tire. If I would've bought it new from say Dennis Kirk down the road from me I would've returned it till I got one that fits a little better. But for $40 I'm not going to lose any sleep over it

Hey Chris, I did see on the Yoshi site they do sell new tags for $12 but I'm going to hold off atm. As far as my rims I think they are stock.

Hey Snake, I used a step drill bit to cut the lock hole to size. To get the notch in the lock hole I used a hacksaw blade.
