very nice. I got mine for $1000 over the summer and then had to spend another $500 to get her roadworthy again....nothing like a good bargain.

Ok the F4i bent wheel saga is not over.

I bought a set of F4 wheels for this F4i as a direct replacement. It turns out that the bolt pattern for the front brake rotors are not the same. The bolt patern for the rear sprocket is different as well. The cush drives are not compatable between the wheels as well. However everything will work if you have the F4 front rotor and the F4 sprocket.

I figured it's cool about the different bolt patterns, because I do also have the F4 rotors and a sprocket. I sanded the wheels, primered, painted, clear coated and baked the wheels. And was so happy with the results. But then when I tried to mount them, I learned that the F4 sprocket is a 525 or 530 but my F4i bike is set up with a 520 chain (No go).

So my options are as follows:

1. Buy a 520 sprocket for an F4 ($70)

2. Straighten bent F4i wheel ($85 with no guarantee about how round it will be when done)

3. buy used F4i wheel ($105.00 Shipped)

4. Buy new F4i wheel ($ ??? too scared to call)

I chose to buy a used wheel on line. It is located in Reno, Nevada. I live in Las Vegas, Nevada. So hopefully I can have it here by Friday.

Wish me luck!

I would have went with a new sprocket or chain and sprockets. You likely could have gotten the whole 525 (which is stock for the f4i(not sure on the f4)) setup for what it would have cost you for the wheel AND you'd have a new chain and sprockets. Along with fresh wheels

I looked at that option as well but I found that the 525 chain and front 525 sprocket would run about $160. I also would like to have the correct year rotor and sprocket, So I opted out of this option.

However when I wear out this band new 520 Chain and sprocket set that came on the bike, I will, most likely, buy a 525 Chain and sprocket set with the stock gear ratio 16/46.

That will make it easier for future owners to get parts *shrug* to each their own they say :P You plan on keeping that thing or flipping it? Either way you can't go wrong but these bikes are tanks and will go forever if you take care of them

I plan on keeping it, based the great reputation of the bike. Plus I really like the look of the F4i. Not this one (she needs new fairings, that will have to wait till after the holidays).

Did you buy new aftermarket, or used oem? If you went with aftermarket please share some details (paint quality, fitment, brand).

Thanks

i didnt get them yet im going to go with aftermarket when i do. still saving up the cash. I found a stie or someone on here reccomended it to me motorcycle-fairing.com I called them they said they do everything to oem specs and they dont have many come back for not fitting right. Most people have told me aftermarket fairings will be fine as for the bracket buy it oem. If you get them before me let me know where and how they worked out i'l do the same!

Ok I will definately let you know. I am pretty sure that I will go with delkevic fairings based on what I have read on this forum.
