Default My 2001 CBR 600 F4i build

I just bought this 2001 CBR 600 F4i on 11/27/10 for $900. It had been sitting for over a year. The bike had bad fuel, a bad fuel pressure regulator, a seized fuel pump, some broken fairings and a slightly bent rear wheel.

I drained the tank and cleaned it with sea foam and a lot of elbow grease.

I then bench tested the fuel pump and found it was seized. So I called the stealership and got a price $510.00 for a new pump, (I politely said "No Thanks"). I decided to take the pump motor apart and get a look at the guts and clean everything then reassemble. I got that running like new. I bought an automotive fuel filter and for $8.00 and that was that.

Next I pulled the plugs which looked pretty good so I cleaned and gapped them. Started the bike up and it was WAY TOO rich so I checked the fuel pressure regulator vacuum hose and (you guessed it) it was wet with fuel. had to bite the bullet and pay the local Honda dealer for a new one $80 plus tax.

I figured while I was at it I might as well clean the injectors by pressuring them up one at a time with carb cleaner and opening them with a 12v jump pack. they all flowed very nicely after cleaning.

So anyhow she is running great now. I got her registered and insured and went for a ride today (that's when I learned of the bent wheel).

I bought a used set of wheels on craigslist for $120 this afternoon they are pretty ugly so I am painting the rear Gloss Black right now.

I like the bike a lot and will buy fairings after Christmas from Delkevic.

...more to come.

The chain and sprockets are brand new! 520 chain is that stock for this bike?

47 teeth in back. I have not yet checked the front sprocket.

Your gearing is not stock. Stock is 16/46 with a 525 chain. Your chain and sprocket(s) are aftermarket
Edt: Just noticed the rear sprocket is black which is also a giveaway...
