I knew it was a camera mount when i purchaed it on ebay but its a flat platform with many slots to mount what ever you want from gps to radar to tvs ect., so it was a good inestment. The only problem with using my gps in a tank bag is the reflection and you cant press the buttons very well. I use my gps for turn by turn directions to places ive never been intown or out of town. The coolest thing about the gps on my bike is i can go Geocaching (www.geocaching.com). I just follow the turn by turn untill i get close enough then i un snap my gps from the holder and walk to the cache. I is also very nice knowing my exsact speed like 76.2.
