Default Motorcycling in Ohio (Dayton)

Hi,
I am about to hit another cross road of what I want for my next assignment. The smart thing to do is to go to Wright Patterson AFB (Dayton, Ohio) to get my masters.

The question is, are there a lot of nice twisty roads that you can ride for hours? I don't remember that area to have any mountains or even hills. I know Mid Ohio Raceway is about 2 hours away so thats a bonus. I don't mind traveling about 30-60 minutes to hit nice roads. I love riding bikes and driving cars.

I been spoiled by nice roads of S. Cali, Central Cali, and now Europe.
Please post pics if you can. I appreciate everyone's inputs.

Frank

Doesn't really matter now, it's gonna start snowing in a month or two.

There are some decent roads around Dayton, mostly to the south. Many people come down through Cincy to ride in northern KY too.

Riding season is just about to get started here in Florida

Problem is the nearest good roads are in the mountains of Georgia

I grew up in dayton/springfield. Not too many good places that I can think of really since it's pretty much all flat. Since you're from the WPAFB area, the best way to go would probably hit some back roads heading east-ish towards the yellow springs area. Some pretty areas around the clifton / yellow springs/ cedarville / xenia area. Check out John Bryan state park. It's pretty this time of year...

Duh, aliens and spaceships underground at Wright-Patterson. I bet you could make one hell of a lightweight bike from some of that metal they picked up after the Roswell crash. You could probably ebay that junk for like a million-jillion dollars.

I'd head southeast of Dayton for some better roads. Being from Dayton, I can testify that it's not the greatest for twisty roads. FLYOU is right about yellow springs area being ok, but its still slightly getting built up. Southeast is my vote. Btw, WPAFB museum is pretty sweet. I don't go there as much as I should.
