RE: Motorcycle Accident Statistics
Some good info.
Too many of us are dying. Unfortunately the ones who are doing the majority of the dying wouldn't care to take the time to read these reports.
Plus:
That is just stupid. But then again I have yet to see a bar on a Friday or Saturday night without at least one bike parked in front. I have a sneaking suspicion they aren't drinking Coca-Cola.[:@]

Plus:
Motorcycle operators with a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) of .08 g/dL or
higher continue to be a major problem.

You got that right! Anytime statistics are quoted, it pays to take a look at the whole picture. Focusing in on a particular thing will usually lead to bad conclusions.

It is good info... but... it also says the pedestrians and pedalcyclist make up 13% of the fatalities as compared to only 9% for motorcyclists. I don't hear anyone raising your insurance if you walk or ride a bicycle.

RE: Motorcycle Accident Statistics
so basicly what that chart shows... (with the upward progress its showing) that i have a 70.68% chance of dying just riding my bike in the year of 2006
sweeeeeettttt! so that means if i make it to the age of 21, i would have defied the odds 600,000:1 (based on the number of riders, and its exponetial increase)
ive always love to gamble... especially on one wheel
someone buy me a beer now... or ill never leaglly be able to buy one myself (just kiddin)

That may be because you are not legally required to have proof of insurance when walking or riding a bicycle. Besides the fact your average bike cost less than a tenth of what your average sportbike costs.

That's my point... They use these statistics to up your insurance, but it's all just a game. If they were actually going by the statistics, we'd have to get insurance to walk around or ride a bicycle.
If they find good statistics, they don't lower your rate, they just ignore them.
