Stock mirrors are almost useless, all I see is armpits and elbows.

I just use a single bar end mirror work great. By law where I live

you have to have at least one on your bike.

 

If your mirrors show armpits and elbows, fit mirrors with longer arms, or extend your present ones with longer bolts and 1" nylon inserts on the fairings.
We do it to the 1000F's and it works a treat.

 

God forbid you have to move a body part riding a motorcycle to be a safer rider

But I say use em. I can't live without em. Mine got loose the other day, so I had to put them down, and ride home. It was the most awkward ride of my life, because I kept trying to use them. Plus, turning your head takes your eyes off the road, and for that two seconds, you cover a lot of ground where a lot can happen.

 

in the state of Missouri, you need at least the left mirror but i have pig spotter mirrors. it's a habit for me to look back any ways with or without mirrors.
