Then you're not using them right. Even if they can't show you what's in your 6 o'clock, they can show you what's in you 2-5 o'clock without turning your head. And when stopped, such as at a light, they can show you that truck that's not stopping at your 6 o'clock.

Screw a ticket. Anything that helps to keep your eyes forward as much as possible is more than worth the imaginary lost style points. Which I think is the real question here.

i've seen this question to many times on here, and i strongly believe you should have mirrors, ticket or no ticket. I dont know why people think the bike looks better without them, it really doesn't. Plus come on, your already vulnerable on a bike against even a mini cooper hitting you from the back, why would you want to be blind from behind, even if it means moving your elbow a little to see your 6..I myself have shortys on my bike which are the shorter version of the oem which means i have to move my elbow a little to see behind me to switch lanes, but defenetly helps alot with lane splitting..

I'm constantly using my mirrors to check that the people behind me aren't about to plow me over...no mirrors is just asking for trouble imho.

Agreed. Definitely get mirrors. My bike didn't have any when I first bought it and I felt naked not knowing what was behind without turning all the way around. I got the kind with integrated signals, which I think is another plus for safety. The existing flushies are still there so I don't have holes, but now people in front of me can see when I signal.

Mirrors saved my *** from being a splat on the highway before. Dude with trailer wasn't paying attention, didn't have enough room to stop and the time that it would've taken to turn my head around would be enough.

Mirrors ftw.

ide say get mirrors... im a strong advocate of mirrors... there are alot of reasons... a big one is so i can check my 6 at a stop light and see if the person behind me is gonna stop or not... as well as to see if their is a cop sitting right behind me and i should be getting prepared to pull over lol

if u like the mirror less look u can do block offs and bar ends but alot of people dont like bar end mirrors... i have one that i used just to see if i like it or not and it actually worked very well in my opinion and i didnt have to shift my body position to see behind me...

here is a video for people who say they are worthless....
