My average is around 150 +- and the highest I've gotten was 186 with all 4 bars blinking.

Yup, I'm always in the low 30s mpg too. I think possibly the biggest difference is for guys who commute. Settling in at highway speeds and cruising will be alot more fuel efficient than constant start/stops.

My max is usually 150 maybe 160 on a good day. I commute 60 miles a day though and its all Freeway driving so I guess that helps my MPG. The bike is pretty much stock (no exhaust no PCIII)
Same kinda of commute here and all stock as well. I too get around 155-160 when light comes on. The highest I gotten is 174 with two bars flashing.

Im thinking there is a theme here. Low Alterations + Highway Miles = Better MPG

I dont skip on the RPM's either. I dont keep it low and I dont red line it everytime either. I would say I average about 85-90 MPH on the Freeway on the way to and from work. Southern California 241-133-5-55-91 lots of freeway changes thank god for the carpool lane!!!!!

I have no idea how you guys are getting 150-160 miles/tank. If I break 115 i'm happy. Do you guys ride around in low RPM's all the time? I'm riding around at 7000-85000 RPM. I've even gone a whole tank full keeping my RPM's under 11K to see if that would help. It didn't.

I should carify: My low fuel light comes on around 105-115 miles, but I'm only filling up 3.5-3.8 gallons. Which equals around 31 Miles per gallon.
see my RES light 4 bars not blinking comes on around 125-130 then I usually have all 4 blinking around 150. I have gotten it as high as 165 once......

First off congrats on the new bike!!! Be careful the first few thousand miles on that thing if it's your first bike (Going to sound like an old man here and tell you to be sure you always wear your gear too!)

I couldn't tell a difference in gas mileage when the bike was new compared to now. I switched to semi-syn Repsol on the past oil change, and was hoping to see a difference, but it's still the same. I don't guess I rev that hard at all compared to some of you! I think I can go 2-3 tanks at a time never getting past 11k. No mods yet, but my CF 2 Bros slip on should be here tomorrow. Some bikes I'm sure you can get over 200 miles per tank, but they would have a much greater capacity of fuel. Even though the manual says mine holds 4.8 gallons, when I went 184 miles I thought I was going to run out of gas, and filling it only took a little over 3.8 gallons.

i usually get around 150-155 per a tank with 3 bars flashing with 87 since i have switched to 89 i have been geting aroun 160 and my resevre comes on, when i go up to 92 its the same as 89. i know how fuel works and im not sure why the gas increase when changing fuels grades. although i notice the same thing on my 85 corvette when i did this and that has mpg gauge in it.

A bike like a Kawi EX500 or EX250 is going to be VERY fuel efficient. That is what they are designed for. You are riding a high performance bike. Going fast and turning like it's on rails are what it is designed for. As long as it can finish the race on one tank of gas, that is all the manufacturer cares about.

On the flip side, with the new map I have loaded in my power commander I am getting about 38mpg commuting. When I commute I keep the RPM's just shy of 6K when I am on the expressway. If I am in tight traffic where I have to "hook and jab" I will keep it 7-8K with short burst to 10K if I need to shoot for a gap.

38mpg is still better than my old KIA Spectra with a manual transmission.

Remember, stock bikes run rich. Even though a aftermarket pipe requires that you add fueling, you can still dial it in closer to stoich.
