hello, just wondering if an 02 has a microchip in it. i want to make a spare key
and if it does not have one can i just go to a department store such as home depot or lowes and make a copy there?
though i also read that some stores do not have blanks long enough for honda motorcycle keys
just how long are these keys. ahha

 

Nope no chip. Haven't gone to HD or Lowes for motorcycle keys. I bought blanks from Honda or ebay. Then had local locksmith cut them.

 

yea. guess i need to get some blanks.

 

I went to a locksmith in town for keys for my 01. It cost about 20 bucks for 3 keys, and they had the blanks there.
