Manual Fan Switch Write Up
 

I've searched to no avail a write up with pics on the manual fan swith install... anyone come across one? I have a solid idea based on other write up's but love pics for back up

You'll probably catch some crap for doing it, because there really is no point for a manual fan switch unless your stunting in parking lots for hours.

Anyways. There probably are not any pics because it's so easy.
Run wire from the positive battery terminal to the positive wire on the fan. Put a switch in the middle, and put a fuse near the battery. Leave the existing positive connection on the fan hooked up. done.

I could care less what people think.. It's something I think would be beneficial to help offset the 100+ deg. days here in the Carolinas. There is so much stop and go riding in the city I think it would really help.

agreed. im in va. sitting on 225 degree bike at stoplights while its 100degrees out blows....

Check out stuntride.com and search for it. I'm sure you will find some good pics as well as the installation of an additional fan possibly too.

I have to add to my 1st post, while that method will work, there is an easier way.

Even easier just to splice into the thermostat wire on the rad and connect it to a ground. Then run your switch. This way no one can turn your fan on without the ignition ON. :icon_teeth:

I'm reusing my gauge from my crash, and the only thing that doesn't show are the numbers for the temp gauge (still lights up). What's wrong with the numbers? And will my fan still work automatically?

is the gauge still pulling information from everywhere else? An educated guess would lead me to believe the temp sensor is ****ed or the wiring from the temp sensor to the gauges.
