Lowering Kits
Hi, I just recently purchased an 01 F4i, I'm 5'3 and having some trouble with my feet reaching the ground at stop lights and such. I can barely balance it on my tip toes and dont feel comfortable at all doing this and was wondering if anybody could help me with some advice. Should I buy a lowering kit, and if so whats the best kind? Also, is there anyway I can manually lower the bike without buying a lowering kit or use this method in addition to a lowering kit?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Lowering the front doesn't require any "kit". You simply move the forks up more through the triple. You have to support the bike though. don't just go loosening bolts. The rear requires a lowering link or a lowering dogbone link. Depending on your know-how and tools it can be a fairly time consuming task.
This is what you're going to need for the rear... http://www.kneedraggers.com/details/...i--505698.html

Thanks, I had found that one online already, but the only size you can select is the 1 inch size and I don't think lowering the back only 1 inch is going to be enough. Im going to need anywhere between 2-3 inches. I also found this one online and was wondering if this could do the trick. http://www.soupysperformance.com/cat...00/4395660.htm
Here's a write up I did about lowering your bike.

Hey!
I had my bike lowered as well, from back and front. But additionally you can get a few (but very important!) extra cm's off if have your seat made thinner. I didn't lose anything on the comfort and gained more support on the ground
plus the new cover looks much better. Don't have any pics atm though in this computer
Cost me about 60 $ to have it done by a professional
