Thanks dude, I hope to give it a try in the next few days. I am thinking of riding my bike to school tomorrow and then on Saturday. I have to ride soon, or I may completely loose the feel for it.

I'll keep you posted.

Thanks again.

i didnt know if it was necessary or not but I removed the ignition from the triple with t40 hex tool to get the triple off, the 2 hex bolts were on pretty tight.. here are the two nuts.. part number 6 and 5... part number 7 is the lock washer with tabs..

as for the palm vibrations from the engine, its not as much as it used to be but i heard if you get gel grips it helps a whole bunch..

Oops, I forgot to mention that. You cant take the tripple off without removing the ignition. Good call

Does anyone know off hand what size socket to use on the steering stem?

My largest is a 27mm and it doesn't fit. If anyone can post up the size that would be great.

Okay, so I did it today and like you said it was easy. My lock nut was not too loose, but it was not too tight either causing slight thumping/movement when you hit a bump or squeeze on the brakes.

I haven't rode since I tightened it, but I will see how it feels at a later time.

I didn't take a lot of pictures, but here is what the lock nut looks like if someone wants to see (actually, all you have to do is look under your top triple and you will see the lock nut, lock washer and adjusting nut).

There is a special too to tighten that nut and according to the manual, it only takes 18 foot/lbs of torque. I also had another problem, probably a result of going down, my steering stem nut was not tight at all. It took nothing to loosen it. I made sure that it was torqued to 76 ft/lbs when I was finished (as according to the manual).

Thanks for all of your help.
