Default Looking at purchasing an F4i

Time to move on after i recently parted out my F2...

i found a 2001 F4i , the bike is all stock 100%, which i like. it has had 2 owners, 15,500 kilometers on the clock.

no damage, dosent come certified. the guy is asking 5000 dollars canadian.

i was thinking if i could get it for 4800 that would be a great deal, what do you think ?

was 01' the first year for the F4i ? are there any short comings or faults with the 01 as compared to the later models of F4i's ?

ive heard they are a great bike and im dying to ride again !

For some reason I thought the Canadian dollar was worth more than the US dollar right now. But if you can get him down acouple hundred I'd do it. Although there isn't much information on the bike other than I take it that its in mint condition with extremely low miles for the year and stock. I'd probably pay around what he's asking for a bike like that but you always try to haggle with the price and get it lower.

My conversion comes out to $4,318.91 US at 5. I'd try to get him down to $4,600 CAN which is around $4k US. $4k is a bit on the high side for a '01 but if it were me and the bike was all stock, mint condition, and that low of mileage I would pay that extra bit.

I think it would be a steal at 4600... its mint condition , red with the black honda wing, everything stock. lots of life in tires

i would just need to pay for the safety, plates, insurance and Id be riding

I think you should go for it then. With the exchange figures posted above, that's a more than fair price. And what matters most is that you're happy, which it seems you are! Go for it!

Yeah man go for it!! I just bought an 02 F4i (All Stock) with 11K for about $3,300.00. I must say I Love it! But routine maintenance wasnt done to the bike yet and now I am having to replace chain and sprockets, had to replace a battery, change oil etc... but otherwise pristine condition and it is kind of a good learning process too since I am fairly new to bikes...

Gotta remember that Canadian bike prices are higher than American generally.

One note - Quebec's new insurance policy is driving the price of sport bikes down in Quebec. Some steals to be had there.

$4600 for a mint 2001 CBR F4i would be a good/ok deal. If it is mint more good.

In Nova Scotia - sport bike prices drop to $3500 as a bare minimum... you can't purchase anything (even an 82 maxim) for less than $1500.

i picked up an 01 f4i for $3,500 a few months ago it had 7,000 miles on it. the only problem, it was laid down but nothing a little sanding and new paint can't fix. i would say 4,000 for a mint condition is an awesome deal.
