I was wondering what year did the fuel injection come out on the f4i. And Is there any year that I should not look at? I am going to look at a few new and used f4i's and was wondering what I should look for if I am interested in any of them. thanks

 

All F4i's are fuel injected, ever since they came out in 2001. That's what the little "i" is for, i = injection. Th e F4's were carb'd. Can't go wrong with any year F4i... they're great bikes!

I haven't heard of ANY of the years having problems (the joy of Honda). You can see by all the years on this forum, and the resounding joy, that you cannot go wrong with them, to include the guys on F2s and F3s...

 

common problem is the cam chain tensioner. very common. either ur bike has the rattle already... or it will. u can do a search on it, and u'll get useful info.

another problem is if u have a gf... she's gonna be pissed cuz lotsa girls are gonna ask for a ride.

 

Didn't Honda resolve the CCT problem on newer models?

 

Im wondering that too becasue i thought it was resolved.

 

hmmm...maybe. i've heard from some people that it was resolved, and ive heard from others that it wasnt. so i'm not sure who to believe. lol.

 

06 f4i with 1200 miles and no rattle. of course what with the helmet, wind, and going as fast as i can all the time, i probaly wouldn't hear if a bomb went off .
