The bike seems to be bogging in lower rpms, under 5k. Also when not moving, if you just roll the throttle and try to keep a steady rpm, the bike will rev down some 500rpm and back up continiously.

Anyone had this before? How to fix it?

 

the low end of the throttle range on mine has always been weak, after I install my PCIII it has gotten better. From what I've read on the forum all have a lag between 2k and 4k RPM's I just remember that it's not like a car, these bikes are designed for higher rpm's and aren't real happy without them. As far as the rpm's dropping do you mean it goes up and down 500rpm when you hold throttle steady in nuetral at lets say 2000rpm.

 

did this just happen one day or has the bike been sitting a while? does it rev fine if you pop the throttle open quickly?

 

Bad gas. Sounds like you need to run some FI cleaner.

 

It seemed that its been happening for a while, but its gotten progressively worse. As before i could feel that the bike was, for the lack of better word, lagging like that a little but it wasnt very noticible, i could only feel it in the wrists. Now its like the whole bike stops for a second and than goes again. Lol it looks like im new at riding and i cant figure out the throttle.

High speed and highway and high rpms is normal.

If i accelerate fast that it doesnt do that. Its only when trying to maintain rpm or slowly accelerating.

FI cleaner is worth a shot.

Btw the bike has 19k miles, has new air filter and sparkplugs. All stock

 

Yeah my next recommendation would have been the plugs but if they arenew I’d try the injector cleaner.

 

Is it possible to **** up spark plug install? I pretty much did it myself without manuals but i dont think anything could be wrong.

 

did you gap them and makes sure none were crossthreaded and put anti-sieze on them? thats all you really have to do for a plug change. how did the old plugs looks when you pulled them?

Well.... I didnt gap anything, nor do i know what crossthreding is and no anti seaze here. I basicaly took the old ones out, screwed in the new ones, and put everything back the way i though it was.

The old plugs were dark brownish and i think two had trace of oil like stuff on them and thats probably not good.

 

Did the problem start before or after the airfilter/plug change? If you did it yourself, you might have missed out a vacuum hose when putting stuff back. Check all hoses are properly fitted. If that doesn't work, try the old plugs again.
