Lets talk about cold weather
Hello everyone im new to posting, but have lurked around for almost a year. I have an 02 f4i. It was once yellow and black, then black, right now it is naked and will soon be silver and black.
Anyways, it is just now starting to get cold here (Texas),so today i was shivering my ***** and i wondered why when it is amazingly nice outside i seem to get where im going very fast but when its cold and miserable it takes forever. I also thought about what the wind chill is like at 85mph.
at 45 degrees and 85mph wind chill is 30 degrees
yet at 45 degrees and 40mph wind chill is 34 degrees
so if you are going over 40 you might as well haul *** and get it over with.

RE: Lets talk about cold weather
I try to ride pretty much year round... and also discovered that the slower I go the colder I feel. I don't know why that is. If I'm on the highway going 70mph, yeah, I'll get cold. But if I'm on a city street going 25-30mph, I can hardly stand it. Weird I know, but try it for yourself and see.

Im in TX too, sitting in bed now cause its damn cold outside these covers. Guess ill be layering up for the ride in to work today!
The high is 60 today, but I find if you tuck the cold is really pretty manageable.

layer inside the jacket mang and get a balaclava to keep out the wind from your neck...and thinsulate liners for the gloves...
no jeans, makes you colder...riding pants only!
